Borrowed Angels

In this life, God sometimes sees fit to send special little angels to us. But they are not for us to keep; they are only loaned to us for a little while.

These little angels are blessed with a special sweetness and beauty that is unique.

They touch our lives in special ways and teach us anew to love unconditionally.

They give us hope for the future and teach us a little more about ourselves.

Perhaps this is the reason they are sent. We cannot know or understand. Only the Father in heaven knows.

What WE DO know is that, when it is time, our borrowed angel is asked to return to the Father in Heaven.

When this time comes, we focus on “why” and “if only” and how empty we feel.

To contemplate tomorrow seems unbearable, but God has promised tomorrow will come, so we must believe in His promises.

Though our arms may be empty, are hearts will always be full of our Little Angels memory, and that memory will never diminish, no matter how much time goes by.

Joy and sadness will always be mixed when remembering the precious gift God loaned to us for such a little time. We only pray that He will help us to understand.

Thank you Lord, for lending us such a precious gift. Keep our Little Angel, Brendon, safe until we are all together in your presence and we can hold him in our arms again.

In Loving Memory of Brendon Keith Fountain – March 11, 2009 to October 14, 2009 Written by Grandma Pat Hunt

I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss. Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning. (Lamentations 3: 20-23)

… God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. (II Corinthians 1: 3b-4) - Carrie

The two pictures above were taken the night Brendon passed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Fountain family and all those who have suffered the loss of a child.

  1. Sarah, this is a lovely thing to read in such a very sad time for the Fountain family. I hope that, in time, they may be able to draw strength from the support of their friends all over the world, online and in real life.
